Statement of Faith

What we believe

The Bible originated in the eternal mind of God – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter: 20 – 21, 2 Timothy 3:15 – 16, Luke 24:26, 44 – 49, John 17:7, 8 Therefore, we believe the Scripture originating in the mind of God is not only God breathed but also sufficient to meet every human dilemma and sin. 2 Timothy 3:15 – 17

We believe the mutual, energetic indwelling of love, pleasure, knowledge and freedom within the Trinity, overflowed in the creation of man, who is the image of God. Hebrews 1:3, Genesis 1:26, 28, 2 Corinthians: 4:4, 6

We believe the Trinity is the encompassing frame of reference within which creation, its meaning and purpose are made known. Hebrews 1:1 – 4, 2 Corinthians 3 – 5,

We believe that the second person of the Trinity, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the mediator through whom the world was created, salvation was accomplished; and the kingdom of heaven i.e. the church, is brought into existence. His glory is the goal of his redemptive words and work. Matthew 16:13 – 20, Colossians 1:15 – 23, Ephesians, 3:20 – 21

We believe mankind has fallen short of the glory of God.  This lost glory was restored through the death, resurrection and exaltation of Christ. Romans 3:21 – 26

We believe that the restoration of the image of God marred by pornography and indeed all sin is, by an intelligent and biblical informed ‘gazing at the beauty of God in the face of Jesus Christ’ 2 Corinthians 4:4 – 6.  We believe it is this Trinitarian beauty that gradually beautifies the marred image and gradually restores the soul damaged by pornography. This is exactly what we mean when we say that sin is overcome, ‘by the expulsive power of a new affection.’

We believe Satan is very active against the church but he will not ultimately prevail. Matthew: 16:13 – 20, 1 Peter 5:8 – 9, 2 Corinthians: 2:8 – 11

We believe in the absolute supremacy of future grace (Romans 5:1 – 2) for spiritual empowerment, 1 Corinthians 2:1 – 5, for spiritual illumination Ephesians 1:7 – 8, 13, 18 and perseverance to the end of the age Hebrews 13:9, Galatians 6:18, 1 Peter 5:12

We believe there remains a war with sin in the heart of every believer. 1 Peter 2:11 every believer is responsible to mortify remaining sin by the power and work of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:13

We believe has an intercessor in heaven Hebrews 4:14 – 16 and in his heart Romans 8:26 – 27. Throughout the sanctification process ultimate success is rooted in Christ session at the right hand of God the Father for each believer. Luke 22:31 – 32, 1 John: 1 – 2
